The setup:
~~~
The howls and screams from outside grow louder, as does the beating
on the walls. The makeshift barricades shudder under imacts on the
doors and shutters. In the center of the hall the remaining locals
huddle staring at the small group of strangers, some accusingly, some
fearfully and some with desperate hope.
~~~
Director: "What is trying to get in?"
Player 1: "Aliens"
Director: "Where are you?"
Player 2: "The Beehive"
[moment's stunned silence]
Director: Why are you here?
Player 3: We got a text
D: When is it?
P1: The night before the election.
D: Who set the text?
P2: Jeanette Fitzsimmons
D: Who are you?
P1: The Prime Minister's bodyguard
P2: Mark Sainsbury (and his ever-present cameraman)
P3: Winston Peters
[I've summarized. A lot.]

[I've summarized. A lot.]
- The aliens burst into the House and start separating the leaders of the parties.
- Mark Sainsbury challenges the redheaded alien reporter who bursts into the Press gallery (followed by it's own cameraman) claiming he has exclusive rights. The alien (played by Player1) makes a counterclaim, Mark then interviews it to discover that the aliens are taking over so as to be in control of whichever party wins the election. (The losers will be eaten.) The Aliens are then going to use NZ as the staging base to invade Australia, the on to Asia where there is a lot of food. After they've eaten everyone (about 200 years) they plan to move on to Mars. They come from Andromeda.
- about this time some of the alien reporter's companions get to it and feed it it's microphone.
- On the floor (and tables) Winston Peters is proving surprisingly fleet of foot and giving the aliens the run-around. The PMb shoots an alien.
- "The big one" (earthquake) strikes [player 2]. Auckland explodes, Christchurch sinks most of Wellington except miraculously the Beehive slides into the harbour and the alien's flying saucer is destroyed. Southland secedes and Tim Shadbolt is elected the new Prime Minister.
- With the election called off Winston Peters negotiates with the aliens to become the new PM. He is successful up until the point that the PM (Helen Clark) stops shouting at a terrified alien long enough to instruct her bodyguard to shoot him. Winston takes a flesh wound to the arm and falls off the table, twisting his ankle. The aliens promptly downgrade him to deputy PM.
- Nandor Tanzos offers one of the aliens something to smoke. Although puzzled the alien tries it - shortly thereafter relations improve noticably.

The New New Zealand Southern Republic, one month later. On the spot interviews:
P1 (Member of a typical suburban family) Actually, since the cable was cut there has been no hint of an enery shortage, so I reckon it's a lot better, yeah.
P2 (Typical small-business owner) Actually we've taken a bit of a hit. The alien's aren;t big on finsh & chips. We've had to diversify into pet-food - they're particularly partial to dog and kiwi so we've subdivided the farm and put in new kennels and a bush area.
P3 (Typical farmer) Pretty good for us - those aliens seem to have a thing for sheep - prices have gone through the roof.
~~~Scene cut~~~
Parliment buildings, some time later.
P1: Still bodyguard to the now Minister of Trade with the New New Zealand Southern Republic
P2: Mark Sainsbury - officially responsible for all broadcasts to Andromeda
P3: Deputy PM Winston Peters
The Issue: The imminent invasion of/by Australia - [Some speeches]
- Message from Andromeda ordering a premptive strike on Australia but not wanting to waste any dog/kiwi/sheep farmers decreeing that the Parlimentary troops shall be used.
- The group engages but is fought to a standstill by the police and a SWAT team at Alice Springs.
- The PMb talks into his sleeve and the ring of police (and quite a lot of surrounding structures are obliterated by laser blasts from some unknown source
- There is some concern over the unknown nature of the forces which assisted one of the invasion teams. Stage two (advance on Canberra) is given the go ahead.
- A variety of false-IDs are produced (Mark Sainsbury, falsetto "Solly Wong"). Winston Peters (pretending to be an Indian immigrant)(oh the irony) is mistaken for an early elimiatee in a Big-Brother spin-off.
- The van's axle collapses just after bursting through the outer doors and as it skidds along the hallway the LAW accidently fires. PMb grabs the minister and leaps out the back - the others manage various forms of flameproofing. HC shrugs off her bodyguard and strides through the flames, which part before her.
- Mark Sainsbury leads the way to the government chamber, opens the door and steps to one side. HC strides in and announces "John! I've come about the Pavlova!"
- John Howard (P1) snaps his fingers (as the other occupants rapidly evacuate the chamber) and a false panel slides up to reveal 10 armoured riot police. Winston throws a stun-grenade but only takes out half of them, the others fire "bean bags" at the group taking down everyone but PMb - his hand is blown off to reveal sparking electrical circuits. He shoots two of the police but the others pile on and he goes down.
- Mark attempts to talk his way out, claiming media immunity, but without success. Winston cuts a deal with Nandor including support for the next marjuana decriminatisation bill in exchange for something to pick the lock with. He picks the lock, but security guards enter, take the materials and lock him up again.
- PMb directs Mark to have his Cameraman focus on his lock. PMb presses a button in his arm and Mark's lock pop's open. As security men rush in Mark stops them for an interview (Security chief by P3), distracting them from PMb literally breaking himself and Winston out. Getting the drop on the guards they are disposed of.
- In the security centre PMb find documents detailing HCs transfer ot a secret facility under Ayers rock
- Some banter, some demands by John for spaceship plans (which Helen doesn't have) and some preliminary and completely ineffective torture
- Failed attempts to find the entrance to the facility by such means as reversing the polarity on Mark's microphone to make it act as a sonar device.
- Return to Alice Springs in search of explosives. Find the entrance to a tunnel leading back to the facility - filled with zombies. Winston tries to convert them into NZ First voters - unsuccessfully
- Find the correct filter on the camera to steal the soul-force animating the zombies. The camera grows somewhat, starts pulsing and emitting a domp-domp-domp noise. The cameraman looks nervous.
- PMb uses Nandor's mystical "sense stash" ability to find a supply of drug which is burnt into the air-vents. Shortly afterward the group is able to travel through the facility unhindered by anything but hugs from the occupants.
- Following a crazed German's screams of frustration they find the interrogation chamber containing him, John Howard and Helen Clark strapped down in an old-fashioned dentist's chair. By this stage everyone except John and Helen are feeling somewhat mellow. [Each Player now has two roles]
- JH reaches out and drains the zombie force from the camera, along with the plans for the spaceship which have been stored in it, and direct the german towards the "soft targets" Winston ineffectually attacks JH who strides to a computer panel and begins entering data. CG attacks Mark, skewering his microphone with a corkscrew. Mark drops to a foetal position on the floor while CG does a happy dance. PMb frees Helen Clark.
- John and Helen have dialogue where he reveals his plan to wipe out the aliens and annex New Zealand.He finishes entering data. PMb hands Helen a gun and she shoots the computer. The computer announces full eletion of all data is imminent - JH manages to cancel the routine but not the facility's self destruct sequence. He flees to an escape shuttle.
- Winston leads the retreat but all the regular exits are blocked. With less than a minute before BOOM desperate measures are called for. From a window Nandor Rapunzel untangles his dreadlocks - allowing the others to climb down but
not escaping himself. The last they see of him he reaches into his coat - the last they hear is "I've never been so high" carried down fromt he stratosphere on a breeze. - Ayers Rock explodes upwards in the mother of all fireworks shows, which Mark Sainsbury gets to film exclusively.
